This half term in year 1 we are very busy with our new learning

 

In Maths we are learning to tell the time on an analogue clock to o'clock and half past.

We are also learning our number bonds to 10 and 20. We are learning to order, read, write and understand the value of numbers to 50.

 

In our Read, Write Inc. sessions we are learning to apply our knowledge of the 44 sounds to read books. We are learning to read with pace and expression. We are also learning to use the correct grammar, vocabulary and punctuation in our writing. We are learning to form our letters correctly.

 

In our Time to connect time we are learning about the different seasons and what happens during them.

We are also learning about Light and dark and the different sources of light we use.

We are also going to look at what people used to light their homes in the past.

We are going to have some fun looking at shadows and how they are formed.
