Parent Partnership Information
Working in Partnership with Parents and Carers
At Boughton Leigh Infant School, we recognise the importance of strong partnerships between home and school in securing the very best outcomes for children. We value the insight, knowledge and contribution that parents and carers bring and work closely with families to support each child’s learning, development and wellbeing. Together, we create a consistent and supportive approach that ensures children build secure foundations and thrive throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We maintain open and regular communication with families through daily conversations, informal updates, parent consultations and ongoing opportunities to discuss children’s progress. We encourage parents and carers to share information, ask questions and speak with staff at any time, as this ongoing dialogue is central to supporting each child effectively.
We also keep families informed about what children are learning in school, including key knowledge, vocabulary and skills across the EYFS curriculum. Guidance is shared to help parents support learning at home, particularly in relation to early reading, phonics, communication and early mathematical understanding. We aim to make this support practical and accessible so it can be easily embedded into everyday routines.
Children begin full-time from their first day with us, supported by a carefully planned transition process. Prior to starting, children and families are invited into school for an opportunity to explore the environment, meet key staff and become familiar with their new setting. This helps to ensure that children settle quickly, feel secure and begin their learning journey with confidence from day one.
We actively encourage families to take part in school life and celebrate children’s achievements together. This includes invitations to events, learning showcases, workshops and special curriculum days. These shared experiences help strengthen the link between home and school and support children’s confidence, enjoyment and sense of belonging.
We know that children make the best progress when home and school work closely together. Our aim is to build respectful, supportive and effective partnerships where families feel informed and involved, and where every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
