KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE ONLINE

Are you confident that the privacy settings on the device used by your child have been set properly? Is your child safe online? How do you monitor the websites your child is looking at?

These are just three questions that will be answered by IT specialist Sarah Fitzgerald when she visits school next Tuesday 6th February to give a Safer Internet Day talk to BLIS parents, carers, family and friends.

With reports of children’s Apps being hacked in the national news recently, as well as the ongoing worry of cyber bullying and grooming, understanding how to be safe online is a vital skill we all need.

Our school believes that internet safety education is a crucial element of the curriculum and an essential part of young people’s development. This session will help you be more aware of the safety messages the children receive in school so that you can reinforce them at home.

Spending an hour listening to information and advice from Sarah will help protect your child and put your mind at rest.

The session starts at 2.15 pm and will take place in the school hall. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served.
